DP Charges need explanation?

I have a bank account for 1 years now. When I checked my bank transactions and I found that there is one debit transaction "60347705 DP CHGS TILL OCT-15" Dr.---- INR 684 '. It will never be charged and also I did not get any message alert in my mobile which is registered with mobile banking with bank This is completely unacceptable and please refund my amount.

At the outset, let me clarify that this site is designed by a group of Senior Banking Professionals to assist Bank Customers at large to provide guidance for resolution of any complain/query/grievance in respect of financial services. This site does not belong to any Bank or a regulator, which may please be noted.

The charges debited to your account must be towards the annual maintenance of Demat account.  Along with your Savings Bank account, I presume that the bank might have also opened a Demat account for you and charges have been levied after lapse of one year.  If you never intended to open the Demat account and have not transacted the same, do approach the branch manager with a written request for reversal of the charges and closure of the account.  If the response is not satisfactory, you should be taking up the grievance with the bank's management / banking ombudsman.  The process is stated hereunder.

1.    Go to your Bank’s website and search for grievance redressal (or similar name) button and submit your complaint online.

2.    If you do not receive any reply / satisfactory reply within 10 days, lodge your complaint with the Nodal officer of the Bank (either through email or letter)

3.    If you do not receive any reply / satisfactory reply within 10 days from the Nodal officer, lodge your complaint with the Principal Nodal officer of the Bank (either through email or letter)

4.     If you are still not satisfied with the reply / do not receive reply from the Principal Nodal officer within 10 days, lodge your complaint with the Banking Ombudsman (either through letter or email)
