Bank, Bangalore, Bwssb Branch — Credited wrong amount to the account, not responding?

Sir, I submitted challan of Rs. 1, 48, 000 through DD in Bank BWSSB Branch, Bangalore on 25/9/2012. towards Karanataka Housing Board (KHB) site allotment instalment. but the bank person entered the amount as 1, 45, 800 and transferred to KHB. KHB received the same on 25/9/2012 and rejected the amount on 28/9/2012 as amount is not matching with DD. upon enquired with KHB, got to know that amount was received, when checked with bank on 28/2/2013, they have not taken any action in last 5 months. upon raising concern, they transferred the corrected amount to KHB. Since last day for paying the instalment to KHB was 30/9/2012 was over and payment was delayed by 5 months, KHB has charged interest of Rs. 8295 including penalty. KHB is holding my site registration until i pay the above interest. I have been to KHB Office many times asking for register my site and even travelled from USA for asking the same. Now I wanted to Bank, Bangalore, BWSSB Branch to pay the interest for their mistake. i have visited the branch 4 times, each time they are arguing that it is not their mistake and its a mistake from my side not to follow up on that. Pls help me in resolving this issue and get my site registered. i have been waiting for the registration from last 3 years. Pls contact me if any further details needed. Shrikant,

At the outset, let me clarify that this site is designed by a group of Senior Banking Professionals to assist Bank Customers at large to provide guidance for resolution of any complain/query/grievance in respect of financial services. This site does not belong to any Bank or a regulator, which may please be noted.

Very sad.  Not to delay the registration any further, I suggest that you should pay the small amount of Rs.8295/- to KHB and get the site registered forthwith.  Simultaneously, since the bank is not responding, you complain to Banking Ombudsman, seeking their instructions to the bank to compensate you, whatever penalty / interest that was levied on you by KHB.  For address of the Office of the Banking Ombudsman, Area of Operation (jurisdiction) and the procedure for lodging complaint, you may access the website https://bankingombudsman.rbi.org.in/.
