I had salary account and converted into savings account. No transaction from October 2014. Just for a span of 14 months they charged Rs.5500. Earlier they used to send balance information . But these penal charges they have done secretly with out intimation. In this matter they behaved as cyber theif who steals money from accounts

At the outset, let me clarify that this site is designed and managed by a group of Senior Banking Professionals to assist Bank Customers at large to provide guidance for resolution of any complain/query/grievance in respect of financial services. This site does not belong to any Bank or a regulator, which may please be noted.

If your account has been converted to a normal SB from a Salary account, all the relevant charges become applicable, as per the scheme.  I assume, you might have not maintained the required minimum monthly average balance in your account and hence the charges.  Please seek clarification from the bank regarding the charges of Rs.5500, which definitely are on higher side.  Post clarification, if you still feel that the charges have been wrongly levied, may complain to Nodal Office of the bank.  You can find contact details of Nodal Officer on your bank's website. In case you do not get desired response, please do not hesitate to write to BO. For address of the Office of the Banking Ombudsman, Area of Operation (jurisdiction) and the procedure for lodging complaint, you may access the website https://bankingombudsman.rbi.org.in/.
