I have a personal loan in BISTUPUR, JAMSHEDPUR, I had sufficient in account where my cheque is presenting ECS, I asked to bank they have told bank not presented any cheque on 7.1.16 (it is my monthly installment date), I went to bank they have told me to deposit eith fine, I have deposited RS.5530 INSTEAD OF RS. 4651. Pl. return this fine amount & adjust in next premium. Why such type of disturvance to customer. After 18 days they have given statement RBI Sequence no 2775543836 Return code 9. dt 7.1.16. But they have not presented ECS in my

At the outset, let me clarify that this site is designed and managed by a group of Senior Banking Professionals to assist Bank Customers at large to provide guidance for resolution of any complain/query/grievance in respect of financial services. In spite of having sufficient balance to meet ECS EMI, if your bank has returned with code 9, they are liable to compensate.  Your bank should compensate you with the charges levied by the other bank, explain the reason/s for wrong return and apologize.  Do handover a written complaint to them under acknowledgement.  If the home branch is not responding, do further complain to the Nodal Officer of the Bank.  You can find contact details of Nodal Officer on your bank's website. In case you do not get desired response, please do not hesitate to write to BO. For address of the Office of the Banking Ombudsman, Area of Operation (jurisdiction) and the procedure for lodging complaint, you may access the website https://bankingombudsman.rbi.org.in/.
