I have an account in Medical College, Meerut Branch( A/c no XXXXXXXXXX00) and deposited money of Rs. 5000/- in your bank Dwarka Mor Branch, Delhi on 9th of Sep.2016. They deducted Rs. 57.50 as Inter city charges. As per Rule below 10, 000/- the charges is Rs. 25/-. They should reverse the amount with mental harassment penalties, in my bank account instantly . As it is not fair !

Hello Ms. Manjula,

At the outset, let me clarify that this site is designed by a group of senior Banking Professionals to assist Bank Customers at large to provide guidance for resolution of any complain/query/grievance in respect of financial services. This site does not belong to any Bank or a regulator, which may please be noted.

You will have a case against the bank only if you have evidence to support  that you were not informed in advance of the charges applicable for  the said cash deposit. The charges for cash deposit is not uniform across banks. Even there is a possibility of the bank having revised the charges which you would not have come to know. The Bank will have defence that the current charges are displayed on the notice board. You will not succeed contesting this.

The amount of Rs.7.50 is towards service tax and the bank has control over this. In conclusion, I would say that you really don't t have a complaint.

Regards
